La fusi\u00f3n por inducci\u00f3n funciona forzando v\u00f3rtices el\u00e9ctricos en una pieza de metal. El principio de la fusi\u00f3n por inducci\u00f3n consiste en que una fuente el\u00e9ctrica de alta tensi\u00f3n procedente de una bobina primaria provoca la entrada de un flujo de electricidad de baja tensi\u00f3n y alta corriente en una bobina met\u00e1lica o secundaria. Los campos magn\u00e9ticos inducen v\u00f3rtices el\u00e9ctricos, corrientes circulares, que se producen en el interior del metal por inducci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>Con el calentamiento por inducci\u00f3n, el calor se distribuye eficazmente dentro de una pieza met\u00e1lica a medida que los remolinos el\u00e9ctricos circulan cada vez m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido por el interior de la pieza. Dado que el calentamiento por inducci\u00f3n se realiza utilizando campos magn\u00e9ticos, un inter\u00e9s de trabajo (o carga) puede aislarse f\u00edsicamente de una bobina de inducci\u00f3n utilizando materiales refractarios u otros medios no conductores. Cuando el material cargado se est\u00e1 fundiendo, la interacci\u00f3n de los campos magn\u00e9ticos y la corriente el\u00e9ctrica que circula por la bobina sigue aumentando el calor en el interior del metal hasta alcanzar la temperatura preestablecida. El crisol utilizado en la inducci\u00f3n de calor puede ser conductor o no. En funci\u00f3n del metal que se vaya a fundir, se utilizan distintos crisoles. Por ejemplo, si queremos fundir hierro, que se encuentra en muchos minerales como la hematites, necesitar\u00edamos un crisol no conductor fabricado con materiales como la arcilla o el vidrio, ya que no permitir\u00eda que la energ\u00eda calor\u00edfica lo atravesara con facilidad. Sin embargo, si quisi\u00e9ramos fundir cobre, que se encuentra en minerales como la calcopirita, necesitar\u00edamos un crisol conductor fabricado con materiales como el acero al carbono, ya que permitir\u00eda que la energ\u00eda calor\u00edfica lo atravesara con facilidad. Si se trata de un metal conductor como el cobre o el aluminio, entonces cualquier crisol que pueda soportar temperaturas extremadamente altas funcionar\u00e1 bien. Si se trata de un metal no conductor como el oro o el platino, se necesitar\u00e1 un crisol no met\u00e1lico fabricado con materiales cer\u00e1micos para evitar descargas el\u00e9ctricas por la
