La fusion par induction fonctionne en for\u00e7ant des tourbillons \u00e9lectriques dans une pi\u00e8ce de m\u00e9tal. Le principe de la fusion par induction est le suivant : une source \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 haute tension provenant d&rsquo;une bobine primaire provoque un flux d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e0 basse tension et \u00e0 courant \u00e9lev\u00e9 qui p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans une bobine m\u00e9tallique ou secondaire. Les champs magn\u00e9tiques induisent des tourbillons \u00e9lectriques, des courants circulaires, \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur du m\u00e9tal par induction \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tique. Avec le chauffage par induction, la chaleur est distribu\u00e9e efficacement \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur d&rsquo;une pi\u00e8ce m\u00e9tallique car les tourbillons \u00e9lectriques circulent de plus en plus vite \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur de la pi\u00e8ce. Le chauffage par induction \u00e9tant r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de champs magn\u00e9tiques, il est possible d&rsquo;isoler physiquement un int\u00e9r\u00eat de travail (ou une charge) d&rsquo;une bobine d&rsquo;induction \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9fractaires ou d&rsquo;autres supports non conducteurs.
