Induction furnaces can melt nearly all conductive metals and materials. It mainly includes iron (cast iron and pig iron), steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, aluminum, gold, silver, platinum, zinc, tin, silicon and graphite. It can also provide energy through a conductive crucible to melt some non-conductive materials, such as glass and plastic.
